When we put this Field to Table event together with Ravin Crossbows, the goal was simple: slow things down and show the entire process the right way.
This wasn’t just about hunting. It was about everything that happens before and after the shot, which is the part most people don’t get to see or learn unless someone takes the time to walk them through it.
We had a small group of hunters with us for the weekend, and from the start the focus was education. Shot placement, animal recovery, field care, breaking animals down correctly, and then taking that meat all the way through cooking. Every step mattered, and we took the time to explain the why, not just the how.
Ravin was a great fit for this event. Their crossbows are extremely accurate and easy to run, which let people focus on fundamentals instead of fighting equipment. For some folks, it was their first time hunting with a crossbow. For others, it was a chance to see what newer technology is capable of. Either way, it worked exactly how it should have.
What I enjoy most about these weekends is watching things click for people. You see it when someone realizes they can break an animal down cleanly, identify different cuts, and understand how to cook them instead of grinding everything. That confidence carries over long after the event is over.
The short video above is a quick look at what the weekend was like. It doesn’t tell the whole story, but it gives you a good feel for the pace, the people, and why we enjoy doing these Field to Table events so much.
If learning how to do this from start to finish is something you’ve been thinking about, keep an eye on our upcoming Field to Table experiences. We build these to be educational, relaxed, and something you can actually take home and use.
